The chair joining me are Councilors, Williams and Roman, as well as President Mi uh, MLI Exofficio. We also have a non-voting member, councilor Vanderberg joining us, the vice chair, uh, Point of order. Councilor Vandiver iss, the Vice Chair. Councilor Vandiver is the vice chair of this committee. Thank, I've already crossed your name out. That's Because I heard you weren't gonna be here, but thank you for making Yeah, sorry. Thank you for pointing that out. Welcome by Vice Chair Vanderberg. Um, okay. So, uh, this provides notice of a quorum for the record
▶ 0:57 Robb Stewart: so we can have the meeting, uh, in accordance with the open meeting law. This meeting is being recorded and broadcast on our local MMTV channel, uh, as well as live streamed, uh, and available for future viewing through the City of Melrose's meetings portal. And without objection, I will move to open the floor for public comment. This is the portion of the meeting where anybody can come forward and speak to any item that is on the agenda, seeing that no one in the, in the, uh, chamber is coming forward. The library finds appropriation for fiscal year 2025 to appropriate the amount of $15,000 from account 2 9 0 3 2 dash five nine, which is the library fines count to account number 0 1 6 1 2 dash 5 3 4 2, which is the library, um, XI dunno what x mm-Hmm, uh, x books and material and periodicals. Uh, and we do have, uh, Ms. Gardner here to speak tonight. So without objection, I'll move to suspend Rule 37 B. 37 B is now suspended. Ms. Gardner, if you'd like to come forward, Good evening. Good evening. Um, so this, and I think the exp I think that's library expense expense. Um, so this is a fines transfer. We have a fines account for any fines and fees that come to the library, go into
▶ 2:50 that specific account, which can then be appropriated into the budget. We don't do this every year. The last year was in fiscal 2021. Um, it is a planned transfer, so there's no unexpected thing happening that's causing this. This was, um, planned as part of our budget planning this year. Um, and proceed code, all funds that go into that account have to be used for the support and maintenance of the public library. And since collections are a primary, uh, reason for our being, um, and a primary expense, we've always used the funds in this way. Hmm. Thank you Ms. Gardner. Any questions from the counselor? Council Lawyers? Just wondering, how many fines do you collect in a year? Um, less than we used to.

Or like what does the library bring in from fines annually? Do you know? I don't have, I can get that for you. I haven't looked at recently. It's been a little, a little off kilter in the last several years. Yeah, No problem. Any other questions from the committee? What is the will of the committee Motion to recommend to the full council?
