This is the appointment of Sydney High 118 Waverly Ave to the Conservation Commission as an associate member for one year term set to expire on the last day of February 2024. The nomination of Sidney highs a comp as a associate member of the Conservation Commission delighted to be able to introduce you here today. You should know that she has a bachelor's and Masters and science specifically in biology both from University of Massachusetts at Lowell. She has a special interest. She reached out to us about serving in this role. She's very interested in public health and environmental justice and has actually done some field work including here in Melrose. And I guess I would ask you not to hold this against her. She she discovered a unique rare parasite right here in the city of Melrose. Which for those of you

I have a background in biology, which I nurtured very early here in Melrose in the public schools, and I would be delighted to be able to support the community. I have so many questions about the parasite but this is probably not the time but it's something I'm interested having contracted one dipping in the Ganges River a few years ago. So too much information for the rest of the crowd just interested in you reached out to be on the Conservation Commission. So just curious like what are the things that you're interested in working on? What would you like to do given you've been in Melrose for a while and and involved? What do you see as some of the things we should be thinking about and focusing on? Yes. So my interest in

I am looking into how the urban environment is changing around us and how we can build climate resilience. I am also interested in, you know, protecting the vulnerable parts of our environment.
