This is a meeting of the Finance Committee. I'm Chairwoman Lila Migliorelli. and joining me are voting Member, Councillor Garipay, Councillor Jamaleddine, Councillor McMaster, and President Grigorez-Exificio, and non-voting Member, Councillor Sinella, Councillor Eccles, Councillor McNaught, and Councillor Tramontozzi. pursuant to governor baker's march 12th order suspending certain provisions of the open meeting law and the governor's march 15th order imposing strict limitations on the number of people that may gather in one place this meeting of the finance committee will be conducted via remote

All right the first order on our first and only order on our agenda for discussion tonight is order 2021-23 transfer from account 29032-59000 library fines account in the amount of twenty thousand dollars and transfer to account zero one six one one two dash five three four two zero zero library expense books and periodicals in

Okay, so this is an order that takes place annually. It is a transfer, as you said, from the finds account into the books and periodicals account. By those ordinance, the funds from the finds account can only go into the library.
▶ 4:31 Jen Grigoraitis: Books and periodicals account, and it helps us to meet a state requirement where we are required to expand a certain amount of funds each year on material that circulate to our patrons. And so it helps us helps us reach that goal, which is what keeps us certified with the state. Any questions? President Grigoraitis? Thank you chairman and thank you miss Gardner for being here. I just 1st wanted to say. What a wonderful job your staff has done with this new remote book pickup. I know my family has taken multiple times. It's a. Huge asset to the community to be able to get books and other materials out of the library again. So thank you for that. I don't have any. Issues with this transfer, just a question as we look ahead to next year. I know we suspended most fines during the pandemic. So I'm assuming we're anticipating that this.
▶ 5:39 Account is going to be low for 2021. is there anything that you want to kind of signal for us. About that at this time, that is a great observation. We have had to suspend fines. When I make the transfer, we do still have funds in the in the account now. So, it's going to be a matter of timing. I'll be able to transfer funds for fiscal 21 and then we will. See, how how this all plays forward in terms of. where we're at for the following fiscal year um in terms of meeting the materials appropriation requirement we are fortunate that while our overall municipal appropriation requirement is required to be obviously municipal appropriation um but we can use funds from any source for the materials expenditure requirement um so for example we use trust funds we use
