I'm Chairwoman Lila Migliorelli, and joining me are Vice Chair, Councilor Stewart, Voting Members, Councilor Garipay, Councilor Jamaleddine, Councilor McMaster, and President Grigoraitis, ex oficio, and non-voting members, Councilor Eccles, Councilor McNaught, Councilor Thomas, Councilor Tramontozzi, and Councilor Cinella. to Governor Baker's March 12th order suspending certain provisions of the open meeting law and the governor's March 15th order imposing strict limitations on the number of people that may gather in one place, this meeting of the Finance Committee will be conducted via remote participation. No in-person attendance of members of the public is permitted, but

A recording of this meeting will be posted on mmtv in the city of melrose website as soon as possible following its conclusion due to the remote nature of our meeting i would like i would now like to entertain a motion to suspend rule 29a for public comment um councillor thomas has made a motion seconded by councillor Garipay madam clerk will you please call the role chair Migliorelli here Yes. Councillor Stewart? Yes. Councillor Garipay? Yes. Councillor Jamaleddine? Yes. Councillor McMaster? Yes. President Grigoraitis? Yes. This passed and Rule 29A has now been suspended.
▶ 1:47 Leila Migliorelli: The first and only order on our agenda for discussion night is Order 2020-67, Renewal of surety bond for city clerk city of melrose in the amount of fifteen thousand dollars for year 2020. this is a record-keeping order to formally state that the city clerk is meeting the annual renewal of surety bond i'll entertain a motion to place on file well um point of order maybe some uh discussion might be in order yes i thought we were motioning and then discussion but yes um so i'll entertain discussion now madam chair yes just for the public certification could we just hear from miss camosa just so she can describe part of the 30 bond and the renewal process uh yes um are you available to speak now i am um this is a requirement both of mass
▶ 2:46 general laws and the city ordinances that that city clerks throughout the commonwealth maintain a surrey bond um it even defines the amount um just in case i think it's honestly a very um the purpose i think is specifically so if um whatever reason we as the record keeper of the the city made an error and have some financial recourse to correct the error.
