So we are calling it to order at 725 as listed on the agenda and on the public website. This committee is being recorded, this committee meeting is being recorded by MMTV. And we have in attendance with us this evening Alderman Robert Boycelle, Alderman Sean McMaster, President Michael Zwirko, who are members of this committee. And non-voting members we have Alderman Scott Forbes and Alderman Jennifer Lemmerman. Is there a motion to open the floor for public participation please? Moved by Alderman Forbes, duly seconded by Alderman Boycelle. This is order two, all in favor of public participation, please say aye.

And the one order tonight before the protection and license committee, it's a good order through the work of Chief Lyle. It's very simple, there's no matching money on this. Chief Lyle did some great work to get this done, and there's no match. So this is order 2018-162. is acceptance of the fiscal year 18 Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Enforcement and Equipment Grant in the amount of $5,502.81

Zwirko: i just wanted to uh note for the folks uh the public that there is a letter that we've received here from the chief of police chief lyle and um i'll just read it here since he couldn't be with us this evening it states the city of mellish police department has been approved by the commonwealth of massachusetts office of public safety and security to receive the fiscal year 18 pedestrian and bicycle safety grant in the amount of five thousand five hundred two dollars eighty one cents which we will receive in the form of a non-matching grant these funds will be used to assign patrol officers to our business district areas and to enforce motor vehicle violations we are also exploring the use of the equipment portion of this grant to purchase solar-powered
