I am the Chair Alderman Lemmerman and we're joined this evening by Vice Chair Alderman Boisselle, Alderman Infurna, Alderman McAteer-Margolis, President Kahn, as well as non-voting committee members Alderman Forbes, Alderman Mortimer, alderman tram and tozi and alderman's work out this meeting is being recorded and can be accessed on mmtv as well as on the city of morrow's website motion to open for public participation second the motion open the floor for public participation from alderman inferno seconded by alderman Boisselle all in favor aye any opposed we are now uh in the portion of the meeting for public participation if

▶ 1:45 suspension of rules you may come forward thank you thank you very much thanks for being here this evening would you like to tell us just a little bit about yourself before we open the the floor for questions from the committee sure I'm a constituent of alderman Boisselle living at Country Club Road I've lived in Melrose 32 years now I think and the mayor called me not so long ago and asked me to be on the Housing Authority board I was both surprised and flattered I do have a fairly extensive background in both housing issues and low-income issues I've basically been a lawyer working on behalf of poor people for my 40-year legal career I worked at the Mass Law Reform Institute for 16 years where I guess I could say dabbled in housing
▶ 2:36 law because mostly some of my colleagues were housing law experts including my good friend Hank Abrashka who became a housing court judge I've been dealing with dhcd my entire legal career although mostly on the energy side but somewhat on the housing side of dhcd i have met with jim holt the executive director who i guess you must all look better than i do but he strikes me as doing a very good job i even said what can i add by being on your board but um you know the mayor asked me to do it and i i'll try to add something to what jim already does apparently pretty well thank you thank you thank you for coming Charlie you have a great a great background for that for this as we most of us probably know you were

▶ 5:10 I have a daughter, and I work in Boston at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. When I first started there, I was working with the women's department there, and I moved to pediatrics after. Having a daughter of my own, I suppose, and also, of course, because I'm a woman, I'm very passionate about women's issues and trying to make our community a little bit safer and just I guess more of a happy environment for myself for others and for younger women you know in generations to follow mine so I'm really excited and a little nervous thank you do we have questions from the committee I'll defer to president president Khan yeah we just like to thank you for volunteering we appreciate you coming forward and we look forward to work to
