It is 7 30 on Monday, July 25th, 2016, and this meeting is being recorded to be viewed on MMTV and also on the City of Monroe's website. I am the chair of the committee, Alderman Lemmerman. We're joined tonight by Vice Chair Alderman Boisselle, Alderman Medeiros, Alderman Infurna, Alderman McAteer-Margolis, President Kahn, Alderman Alderman Forbes, Alderman Mortimer, and Alderman Zwirko. Do we have a motion to open the floor for public participation? Second. We have a motion to open the floor for public participation by Alderman McAteer-Margolis, seconded by Alderman Boisselle. All in favor? Aye. Any opposed? The floor is now open for public participation.

Seeing no one, motion to close public participation. Second. Motion to close by Alderman Inferna, seconded by Alderman Boisselle. All in favor? Aye. Any opposed? Public participation is now closed. We have one item on our agenda, as I mentioned. Order number 2017-6, the appointment of Ellen P. Connolly, 7 Union Street, to the Melrose Housing Authority for a five year term. Said term to expire on the first Monday in March 2019. Motion to suspend the rules to ask the applicant if they'd like to come forward. Second. We have a motion to suspend the rules by Alderman McAteer-Margolis, seconded by Alderman Medeiros.
▶ 1:41 Jennifer L. Lemmerman: We're being joined by the applicant. Everyone? Good evening, thank you very much for being here with us tonight, Ms. Connolly. Would you like to give a brief statement about yourself to the committee? Just that I've lived in Melrose since 1982. I've been a member of the Affordable Housing Corporation for several years. My interest in local housing started when we had an affordable housing task force, and I work in the affordable housing and economic development area and have an interest in furthering housing and economic development in the city. That's great. Thank you very much. Motion to recommend. Second. We have a motion to recommend by Alderman Boisselle, seconded by Alderman Inferna. Before we take a vote, we do have some discussion.
▶ 2:34 Gail Infurna: Alderman Inferna? Thank you very much, Madam Chairman. I just want to say welcome and thank you for volunteering for this commission. I had the pleasure of working with Ellen back many years ago in the affordable housing task force. And her knowledge was always very well respected and important, a good addition to the group there. So I think this is a great addition. So thank you very much. Well, I welcome the invitation. Thank you. Thank you, Alderman Inferno. Alderman McAteer-Margolis. Thank you, and thanks, Ellen. You and your family obviously have a history of serving the community, and we appreciate that you're willing to come back and do that again, especially in a field that you're so familiar with

Joan has been part of that group for a long, long time, introduce another thing can't think of anyone better to take her place so thank you thank you thank you any other discussion okay we have a motion to recommend maiden seconded all in favor aye any opposed the motion passes to recommend to the full board which we will vote at our next meeting and you do not need to be there for that meeting thank you very much thank you thank you Thank you.
