This meeting is being recorded in conjunction with the Mass State General Laws regarding open meeting. Do we have a motion to open the floor for public participation? So moved. Second. All in favor? ▶ 9:08 Mary Beth McAteer-Margolis: tonight the first one is order two zero one five dash one three two the acceptance of the burn DOJ which I assume is Department of Justice fingerprint machine grant from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts fund number four five zero four and I believe we have police chief with us this evening and we're under suspension of the rules I believe still so come on forward chief and if you would enlighten us as to this grant excuse me to give you some background on what fingerprint machine is so everybody understands for the folks at home all all the rest ease or anybody that is brought into the police station is processed through our booking room downstairs and they're all fingerprinted and the reason we fingerprint everyone is because if
▶ 10:01 If they're wanted in another state or another part of Massachusetts, we do not want that person to, obviously, go free or be bailed. The current machine we have is a digital machine and it's reached the end of its life. And we are fortunate this year, we applied for the Byrne Department of Justice grant and we were awarded the grant on April 6th. So I'm here tonight to ask the board to accept the grant. It is a non-matching grant for our equipment and training for the new equipment. I also like to recognize Lieutenant Jim Mulroney. He actually wrote the grant for us, and he is going to manage the grant for the police department. Thank you, Chief. Does anyone from the team? Motion to recommend.

▶ 11:33 Mary Beth McAteer-Margolis: licenses renewed for the class two motor vehicle for the year commencing January 1st 2015 do we have a motion thank you madam chairman I I do believe that the city clerk has sent over a revised we found that there were some duplicates of entries this is on the motor vehicle order oh I'm sorry no other vehicle licenses pardon me second Alderman motion to place on file I'm sorry these are just licenses renewed right though what the the licenses have already been renewed it is just a formality that we are approving the renewal so alderman Second. As Alderman Medeiros was about to point out, we have a revised list. was some duplication and some items some some establishments that were on one list and duplicated on the second list so we should be reviewing the list that says renewed revised 2015 all new Madeiros and I know there was some discussion that we may need to amend by substitution here this evening correct the list that is revised because there had been some there was some email correspondence about this because we had noticed that there were some licensees in the licenses not renewed appearing in the licenses renewed it removes those licenses and as well as just just for the public record I know Alderman
▶ 13:37 Mary Beth McAteer-Margolis: Inferno had asked via email the city clerk about the expiration date with these licenses are on an annual basis and expire on December 31st, 2015. That is correct. So I'd like to move to amend by substitute. Second. We have a motion by Alderman Medeiros to amend by substitution, seconded by Alderman Inferno. Is there any discussion? All in favor? Aye. Opposed? I'm sorry, and then now we need a motion. Motion to place unfiled. Correct. Second. All in favor? Okay, that order will also be placed on file. The next order is Order 2015-151. The license is not renewed in the Common Vic for the coming year commencing January 1st, 2015. And again, we have received the corrected revised list, which I believe now includes

And the reason for these non-renewals is because the owners either opted not to renew or the establishments have gone out of business. So do we have a motion to amend by substitution? So moved. Okay, these will be placed on file. I did ask the clerk regarding the date, and I believe someone had been out in their office, so that is the reason for the lateness of these coming to us. Hopefully that will not happen again, and they will be able to get them to us

Alderman Inferno? a quick one if the if you could just ask the clerk to change um the spelling of the name beauty cafe it's uh incorrect on the order just so our records show that it's correctly all right we will communicate that president khan yeah um just so the public is clear is what's going on here because we're doing nothing of substance tonight with these things nothing at all all the licenses are renewed by the city clerk and all we're doing is making these lists part of our records so we're doing nothing of substance relative to this it's putting these things into the file of the board of alderman thank you that is our role here they're all taken care of by the city clerk's office report do we have a motion to adjourn so moved second
