▶ 16:02 Peter D. Mortimer: to see his family here. Harrison is home from college, and he was working at Turner's just moments before he rushed over here to get off work early, but that's the type of young man he is. Home from college and instead of just relaxing he's right there out

▶ 16:25 Peter D. Mortimer: was be prepared and he was prepared and he is here tonight for this resolution which I will read now. A resolution honoring Harrison Sean Hahn for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. Whereas Harrison Sean Hahn was born and raised in Melrose, Massachusetts. At the age of seven, he joined PAC 635 as a Tiger Cub and advanced through the ranks of Bobcat, Wolf, and Bear, and Weeblos Scout. His proudest moment as a Weeblos was to carry the American flag for the Melrose Memorial Day Parade in 2004. He also won awards in the Pinewood Derby and participated in several blue and gold banquets. Harrison received the Arrow of Light Award before crossing over to Boy Scout Troop 635. Whereas Harrison held several leadership roles in the troop, including Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Quartermaster, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader, and Troop Guide. Whereas Harrison was inducted into the Order of the Arrow as an ordeal member, he also participated in four summer camp encampments with his troop at T.L. Storer Scout Reservation where he enjoyed the shotgun and rifle range, the mountain man program, and the wilderness challenge. Harrison earned numerous merit badges while at camp. He led his patrol on several Klondike challenges where the patrol earned many distinctions and awards. Harrison also participated in a Philmont trek where he earned his 50-miler badge and was elected by his crew to be its Wilderness Pledge Guia, that means guide. As Guia, he helped the crew understand and focus on camping practices that follow the principles of the Philmont Wilderness Pledge and leave no trace. Whereas Harrison attended Malden Catholic High School and graduated in 2015, his many activities included playing four years of varsity lacrosse, volunteering with his classmates serving dinner to senior citizens, participating in community service projects, corral, ski and social clubs. Harrison also played club lacrosse and participated in nine different tournaments. His efforts both academically and on the athletic field did not go unnoticed as he was recruited to play for the Division III conference champions, the Western New England Golden Bears. Whereas Harrison plans to complete his Bachelor's of Science degree in criminal justice at Western New England University and pursue a career in federal law enforcement, he is an avid hiker, skier, sports shooter and all-terrain vehicle rider who continues to do these activities in college as time allows. Harrison currently has a very full schedule with course work at Western New England University, sports and reserve officer training candidate work. He recently returned from his weekend encampment at Camp Edwards. While there, he was noted to have exceptional physical abilities, running a five-minute and 45-second mile. In addition, he was commended for his navigational skills in front of his entire battalion. Whereas Harrison's Eagle Scout leadership project involved a two-mile hiking trail improvement at Braycott Reservation in Saugus, Massachusetts, the original trail had developed into a series of side trails to avoid downed trees and water hazards that no longer existed, leading many hikers off the intended path, including the ranger of the park. Harrison worked with the Department of Conservation and Recreation to develop his plan and to gather resources for completion. The project was completed in April of 2015 and has helped countless hikers find their way over rocky and previously unmarked terrain. Now therefore, be it resolved that we, the Board of Aldermen, the Mayor, so by this resolution before us, honor Harrison Sean Hahn with our gratitude and appreciation for his extraordinary leadership within our community, and be it further resolved that on this, the 21st day of December, in the year of our Lord 2015, a copy of this resolution be spread upon the record of the Board of Aldermen and that a special copy thereof be prepared and presented to Harrison Shawn Hahn.
