▶ 1:13:28 Cory Thomas: patience while we bring this together and thank you for waiting patiently uh while we finished up the appropriations meeting this is a resolution offered by myself corey thomas ward 7 counselor mark Garipay ward 4 counselor and jeff mcnaught ward 2 honoring the 2019 2020 state champion melrose high school wrestling team whereas the 2019-2020 melrose high school wrestling team under the leadership and direction of division 3 coach of the year larry trembley and assistant coaches nick gamble eric bubba johnson brandon haggie and ryan alboyle along with captains hunter adrian sean herbert victor rodriguez and eric pimental compiled the 22-2 dual meet record and whereas the team won their first ever mwca state dual meet championship and received year-long team contributions from wrestlers jake petty paw michael marr christopher cj marr alex locke mick mcguire robert morrison alec mclaughlin ian gauch sean mackie yusuf beg and so drift and where for the third and four years won the miaa division three north sectional championship behind sectional champion wrestlers adrian sean herbert and sean thomas and sectional place winners otto albanese stephen fogarty shay fogarty victor rodriguez jacob swan matthew hickey and eric pimental and whereas for the second time in school history won the miaa division three state championship behind state champion wrestlers hunter adrian and sean thomas and state place winners victor rodriguez jacob swan matthew hickey and eric pimentel and whereas hunter adrian herbert won massachusetts all-state individual championships and melrose placed fourth and hunter adrian won the new england championship in his weight class and sean herbert placed third in his and melrose place placed 12th overall and therefore be it resolved that we the melrose city council acknowledge this victory recognize and applaud these achievements and that this resolution signed by each member and the mayor be spread upon the permanent records of the city of melrose and be it further resolved that a special copy be presented to all on this first day of june in the year 2020 attested the members of the city council congratulations to the 2019-2009 high school wrestling team thank you councillor

▶ 1:16:52 Speaker 4: i appreciate the opportunity thank you and thank you for uh rewarding the team once again we appreciate it and uh just want to give a great shout out to the marrow school system the principal the ad and uh all my coaches and once again uh thank you for the opportunity to coach in melrose it's a great city and i really enjoy my time here it's been a special year as you know we won the state tournament by 41 and a half points and uh complete domination and the dual meet it came down to a freshman winning for us to ice that and was just a great great season i want to thank all the parents that have contributed to such a great uh year and the senior captains and senior leadership was just amazing just a fun program and a lot of volunteers past alumni wrestlers that have come back to help us out and it's sort of a nice family but we've had had some great leadership from these seniors and I'm going to miss them wholeheartedly and just can't thank my coaches enough and like I said the AD and the principal and everybody that's been involved all the way down to the custodians helping us clean the mats.

This didn't happen when I was in high school, so you can blame some of that on me. was on some of the teams but we're even starting to see crossover on names between different championship teams and i think we're we're in an era of some superb melrose sports uh across the board so thank you to the coaches the students and the school administration for the wonderful job that you do because you're doing morrow's proud so thank you thank you so much appreciate
