▶ 1:14:15 Christopher Cinella: Thank you. Our next order for this evening. Order 2021-20. The appropriation from the Rideshare Special Revenue Fund, 2921, in the amount of $37,965.80, these will be used to help address various road and sidewalk projects.

▶ 1:14:56 Speaker 3: Me again. um so each year we get a payment from um like a mitigation payment from ride share rides that have originated in melrose it's 10 cents per ride and so this reflects the last two years worth of payments i actually did not realize that um that last year's payment had never come before the counselor the good news is we haven't spent last year's payment um but i had thought that um the director stinson had brought that order forward but i guess he wasn't aware that needed to be done um so the request is just to accept the rideshare mitigation funds for both last year and this year um and the last year's funds were approximately 17 000 we did have to provide to to the state a list of what we intended to use last year's funds for. And so we had provided information on replacing faded street signs. We have a long list of faded street signs that, you know, parking signs, stop signs and the like. We have gathered GIS information out in the field of we've done a street sign inventory of about 75% of the community at this point. and that was the number of signs that needed to be replaced. And we have a specific list of where those are, but it's pretty much any place that we've visited that requires replacement due to being faded or damaged. And then the remainder from last year was proposed to go towards putting in a push button crosswalk signal at the crosswalk at Wyoming near Berwick, where we unfortunately had the pedestrian fatality a couple of years ago. And so that would fund the installation of that and also a small media and island. Mainly painted posts for the center of the road at that crossing so that there was a small. Median refuge where somebody could stop halfway across the street if they really needed to if. They had started crossing and then found that they couldn't safely get all the way across. So that was the proposal for the 1st, 17,000. And then the 20,000 for this year, we haven't identified specific projects, but. They tend to be the same types of projects, their streetscape projects, traffic, safety projects as we identify needs. I know last week at the traffic commission meeting. We approved for new crosswalks that don't have any funding source, but that were strongly supported by the, the community and the word counselors. 2 on Pleasant street and 2 on Grove street. And so this could be a potential funding source for those. Um, we also have requests in several awards for more solar speed, feedback signs and for more push button crosswalk signals flashing signals. So, these are the types of improvements that we've traditionally used the ride share money to fund. And so we're just looking for. Approval to accept those funds from the state for both last year and this year.

▶ 1:18:18 Robb Stewart: Thank you Mr. chair and thank you for providing that detail. This is something that was discussed at length at the head bike committee. And all the good work that they do there, these are great initiatives to help. With the safety of the community, the. The walking mobility, the pedestrian mobility of the community. The 1 example that on this, because I'll spoke of. Which is right down by the ice cream shop club 9. A lot of people throughout the spring, summer and fall are crossing that. At the twilight hours, the traffic can speed and tend to go pretty quickly on there. That's just 1 great example of finding great ways to use this money. For helping the community in this regard, I think this is a super initiative on the full support, but thank you. Mr.

▶ 1:19:34 Cory Thomas: all the projects that you talked about you know signage uh improved signage crosswalk solar uh solar buttons uh those are all uh well um deserving items for this money to go towards um is any of this money gonna go to actual road improvements though like the condition of Roads, there's a couple of roads that aren't on the current list of the most needy roads in the community. Grove Street is one of them. Ward 6 and Ward 7 share Grove Street. It's in very tough condition right now. I put a couple of work orders in this spring and summer. Any of that money earmarked, I've seen the construction schedule, I've seen the road rankings. DPW does a great job of the construction schedule and ranking the roads. grove is not on there um were there any chance of any money going towards fixing grove possibly yes

▶ 1:20:32 Speaker 3: i'm happy to say we have a different plan for grove street uh we've been working with dnr paving to come up with a plan to do it's not um it's not in our three-year plan as you mentioned so it's not getting the full um you know the full uh utilities followed by paving and all that but we do have a plan to do a um I would say I'd call it like a permanent temporary repair. It's like what we did on up on street. A year or 2 ago where we repaired whole sections of the street that desperately needed it and we do have a price now from and we also have a price to compare it to for renting equipment and doing it ourselves curb to curb. Just sort of dragging a leveler over it and putting a new surface curb to curb. So something will absolutely be happening with growth street this year. We recognize that it has gone through very fast deterioration on that 1 segment. And actually, I'm surprised that that worst segment didn't come up in worse condition in our condition assessment. I think maybe we had, you know, just filled some potholes right when we did our condition assessment. So it didn't, it didn't pop up as being quite as dire, but and it's a bus route. It's in dire need. So we recognize that and we will fix it.

▶ 1:21:56 Cory Thomas: That's that's great to hear. Thank you so much. You know, and thank you for having that information readily available. And I just wanted to note to on West Wyoming Avenue. That was David O'Donnell a long time. Melrose resident, great Bob at the Yankee Clipper. He was the pedestrian that was killed in that crosswalk. So I'm very much in favor of fixing that area and beefing up the pedestrian in the crosswalk and the island, so that's great. David was a great part of the Melrose community for three or four decades, and he's missed by many people. So thank you very much.

I am sure we don't all want to jump in on this one, But there's a section between Bellevue and in row street access to the hospital that we put in a bunch of request. So, if there's any way that we can, if there's extra money, take a look at doing that project there. Because a lot of the ambulances do do travel down Bellevue take a left on to on the street.
