It was a lifelong resident of Melrose and very active member of the community. past president of the Chamber of Commerce on the board of directors for the Melrose Municipal Credit Union Foreman chairman of the Melrose Library Melrose member of the Melrose Redevelopment Authority Melrose delegate to the MBTA Advisory Board and current Melrose Wyoming Cemetery commission, but Doug was president of this body board of alderman then back in 1982, and he served as
