CITY OF MELROSE CONSERVATION COMMISSION City Hall, 562 Main Street Melrose, Massachusetts 02176 Telephone - (781) 979-4312 Fax - (781) 979-4290 Melrose Conservation Commission Minutes for May 27, 2021 Present: Richard Doucette, Ryan Sloan, Paul Moore, Kate Hickey and Jason Jancaitis Absent: Eugenia Gibbons and Michael Paiewonsky Staff present: Eric Devlin Mr. Doucette opened the Remote public meeting at 7:30pm Discussion: Appropriations meeting- The Melrose City Council appropriations committee meeting is next week, June 3. Several members plan to attend to discuss budget for the coming fiscal year (FY22) and clarify what the process is for future reference. Staff to check with City Auditor’s office for possible funding sources for expanded staff time. Filing fees scenario suggested with limitation to one day just doing permitting work. Possibly have Commission vote to approve additional hours depending on projects on schedule. Commission Members- Mr. Doucette indicated that he is moving out of state soon and would be leaving the Commission. Anticipates that the July Meeting will be his last meeting. Ms. Hickey stated that she will also be leaving the Commission some time at the end of the Summer/beginning of Fall. Staff will send out an email to the stewards and Commission info list soliciting applications to the Commission. Most recent member to join the Commission mentioned that it was a slow process to be appointed. Staff will ask applicants to submit a copy of application to him as well as the City volunteer address to be able to keep track of applicants. New/Old Business In reference to Ell Pond park at the previous meeting, according to the city calendar, the next few Park Commission meeting dates are: June 15, 2021 7:00 PM July 12, 2021 7:00 PM August 9, 2021 7:00 PM The next regularly scheduled meeting will be Thursday, June 17, 2021 at 7:30 PM. Motion by Mr. Doucette to adjourn. Mr. Sloan seconded the motion and it was voted 5-0 in favor. Adjourn 8:45PM adjourn ____________________________ _________________ Approved Date.
