▶ 23:16 president Grigoraitis yes 11 yes i will make chief kalina a panelist now good evening everybody chief can't see you though oh i don't know how to get the video on here i'll start video there you go here it comes so i come before the council request and acceptance of this grant that the city received late august august 25th and though it's going to be managed by the fire department it's a joint grant that myself and chief lyle put in for and it's going to be used for personal protective equipment for both the firefighters and police officers and also with With the monies from the grant, we're going to be purchasing some sprayers for decontamination, cleaning the stations, the cruises, the fire apparatus, and ambulance.
▶ 24:34 It's a electro hygiene atomizer sprayer, and with the product that we'll be using, it should be able to kill 99.9% of any pathogens, including the SARS virus, CV2. So this is much needed money that will help us along the way getting the proper PPE needed to perform our job effectively. uh so i would uh request that the council accept this grant there's oh by the way there's uh it's forty nine thousand ninety five dollars seventy five cents there is no matching uh funds required with this grant thank you great i'll close your melody thank you chair um i wanted to ask uh to colina uh is the um equipment um equally uh split in between two departments and can you explain to us uh or name some of the equipment that's protective personal protective equipments
▶ 25:45 that you are looking to purchase yes certainly um the grant doesn't specify you know 50 50 i would say that the fire department probably uses more protective equipment than the police department just based on our roles uh however we'll manage the purchasing so that's all coming from one vendor and we'll uh store the equipment here at the fire department and uh chief lyle uh whatever his needs will be will just come through me and we'll make sure that his officers have the tools uh needed those tools would be uh protective gloves we commonly use a excuse me night trial gloves latex free so when we're dealing with a person that's infected it's not uncommon to use that will double glove up so we're using twice as much protective equipment
▶ 26:43 that's on gloves we're looking to purchase full isolation coveralls which is something that we don't have right now we have gowns but this would be a full encapsulated excuse me if we had to go that depth into protecting our Member face shields head coverings boot covers disposable surgical masks very much needed n95 master surgical mass at the not surgical mass but the massive that we need to where when we have direct contact with an affected person in also we put in for a an inventory management software program that that should cost just under three thousand dollars to help manage once we set our power levels of equipment once you know if it goes out of four boxes of equipment go to the
▶ 27:43 police department would know that and then that would set triggers or went to purchase new equipment so we don't have too much but we certainly would have enough to do our jobs. Did that answer your question? Do you know if this grant would be sufficient to purchase the equipment for the entire year or do you think that will run out earlier? I think this equipment should get us through this pandemic. We're pretty good Here at the fire department, one of our firefighters, my infectious control officer, Dave Ball, he's quite up on all this and proper donning and doffing of equipment so that we're not wasting equipment. We're using what we need to use at the proper time. And we will be able to use some of these funds so that we could send Dave down to the police stations to train all the officers there.
▶ 28:42 Mark Garipay: um and again we don't want to keep training our firefighters as new equipment comes out you you know um if you don't use it properly then you just wasted it so um training is uh is very important in this uh but again um we don't know how long this pandemic is going to go on you know but we'll be in good shape to serve our citizens here in morrows did i miss anybody i didn't see any of the hands go up as the guy back thanks mr. chairman chief Kalina I just want to thank you and chief Lyle for searching out these grants you know especially in these financial times in with this pandemic you know these this this money goes goes a long way so I want to recognize you and thank you and chief Lyle for we have work on that thank you anybody else
