I am Alderman Sean McMaster, the chair of the committee. Joining me this evening are voting members of the committee, Vice Chair Peter Mortimer, Alderman Robert Boisselle, Alderman Kate Lipper-Garabedian, and Alderman John Tramontozzi. Joining us this Alderman Butcher is not here at the moment. We have Alderman Michael Zwirko and our president, an ex-officio member, President Jennifer Lemmerman. In accordance with the open meeting law, this meeting is being recorded and broadcast live on MMTV, as well as live streamed on the MMTV website. It is also available for future downloading on the City of Melrose and MMTV websites.

MacMaster: one item on our order this evening it is order number 2020-23 application of dovale enterprise doing business as certified automotive for a class 2 motor license alderman lipa garabedian has made a motion to suspend the rules it has been seconded by vice chair Mortimer all in favor any opposed mr duvalli would you please uh step forward and i'd also note for the record that alderman Medeiros has joined us good evening sir good evening would you like to make an opening statement or proceed directly to questions and before you do so if you could just state your name for the record my name is jamie deval and i currently own a repair shop on lebanon street for automotive service and repairs i'm looking to branch out and open a class 2 dealer's license on
▶ 2:45 on Upham Street, right over here. And I've been a Melrose resident for 17 years. Have family here. I want to stay in Melrose. I want to branch out my business here. So that's pretty much it. Are there any questions from the members of the committee? Alderman Tramontozzi. Yes, what type of property is the one on Upham Street you intend to expand to what's there now well my business now on lebanon street i know the one on up um upham street yes it's a uh a garage over here no i i just it's just for purposes of the record and for the public so it's not like you're changing uh the um the use of the property no it it was currently a uh a used car repair shop okay great thank you we're not changing anything right

Boisselle: exactly thank you any other questions from uh committee alderman boycelle good evening um are you abandoning the property on lebanon street or are you just expanding onto upham street well it all depends on what happens because i i would like to keep both but depending on how business goes, I'm not really 100% sure, to be honest with you. Okay. In your license, you say buy and sell vehicles. On the Lebanon Street, you have quite a few vehicles on display. How are you going to- I don't have vehicles on display on Lebanon Street. I don't buy or sell vehicles on Lebanon Street. You will be buying and selling on this license? I will, yes. yes okay so this is a new venture then yes okay so how many vehicles do you intend to

Boisselle: have displayed on on site it'll probably be like four or five it'll be inside is that going to be up front on up street in the windows or is that going to be it might be in the in the shop maybe one or two in front of the windows so you're taking the whole building not just the mechanics in the back well i don't understand that well in in the beginning on upham street there's just a window display and then there's a garage going into the work area in the back i'm going to be taking the whole thing you're taking the whole thing okay good thank you thank you very much thank you are there any other questions all the men look at your beating sure thanks for being here tonight i live close to your business on lebanon street um do you want to just tell the

MacMaster: repair license which requires a special permit through the zoning board of appeals are you aware of that and that that is a separate and distinct process that you have to pursue yeah i understand that okay and i would just also note for the record we do have the applicant's uh license uh in our possession as well as sign offs from the building inspector the police department the fire department we have the surety of bond uh transmittal corey form and proof of insurance motion to recommend for passage mr chairman second there is a motion made by vice chairman warner to recommend for passage it is seconded by alderman trim and tozy on discussion all in favor any opposed thank you mr deval what this means is that this matter has been
