It's now 7.30 p.m. and my name is Alderman Tramontozzi and I chair this committee. And with us this evening are voting members, Alderman Tramontozzi, Peter Mortimer, Alderman Robert Boisselle, Alderman Sean McMaster, and non-voting members, but present this evening, thank you, is Alderman Scott Forbes, Alderman President, ex-official member, President Michael Zwirko, and Alderman Kate Lipper-Garabedian. We have a motion to suspend the rules by Alderman Medeiros, I'm sorry, Alderman Mortimer, seconded by Alderman Voizel. Pardon me, I apologize. On that motion to suspend the rules, all in favor? Aye. Any opposed? Seeing none, we do have the applicant and family members present with us this evening. And I invite them to come to the table to speak on behalf of your application. Good evening, and could you just tell us who you are and introduce the other family members? Sure. I'm Joseph Canestaro, and it's my wife Rose, and my daughter Gabriella.
▶ 3:02 John N. Tramontozzi: So Gabriella must be the name of the Italian pizzeria. Is it named after her? We're hoping she'll work there more if we name it after her. Very good. Well we do have an application for a common victual license that you have presented to us for review and approval. It looks like it's all in order and signed off by the various department heads. Do you want to tell us a little bit about what your intentions are, what your plans are for the establishment? I know this was Jerry's Pizza, formerly known as Jerry's Pizza. Sure, so we started a business called Joe Pizza in 2000 in West Medford. And it's an Italian upscale Italian pizzeria. And we've done pretty well there, and that's why we're expanding into Melrose.
▶ 3:52 My brother lives here, has lived here for many years, and we love the city of Melrose. And when Jerry's became available, it was a no-brainer for us. So, we're hoping everything works out. But everybody's been really good to us at City Hall, and we appreciate the goodwill. Well, we do want to welcome you to Melrose, and wish you the best of luck. maybe some questions from committee members anybody have any questions oh yes what uh what will your proposed hours of business be i know it's in the application i'm just trying to put it out there for the public and give you a little bit of free advertising yes um will be monday through wednesday 11 to 9 and friday saturday till 10 o'clock 11 to 10. thursday thursday

Mortimer: yes thursday to sunday yeah and what about friday and saturday night friday and saturday night if anybody wants pizza will be until 10 o'clock 11 to 10. 11 to 10. yeah and that's right across from the cvs pharmacy yes superstore yeah where jerry's pizza used to be exactly will be the new gabriella's pizza see these cameras on here that's all i have very good i thank you all of them in mortimer yes president Zwirko thank you mr chairman i just wanted to say thank you for opening up a business here in melrose and i'm glad to hear that everybody at city hall was you know welcoming and giving you the opportunity for your business we always welcome a new restaurant here in the city and looking forward to trying out uh your food as well so i wish you the best of luck thank you

Tramontozzi: very much appreciate that that's all i had mr chairman very good anybody else we have a motion to recommend for passage by alderman mortimer seconded by alderman Boisselle on the motion all in favor aye any opposing none so what that means is this committee has voted to recommend the approval of the application to the full board now we're going to have a meeting in probably 10 minutes of the full board and that your application will be presented for the full board for approval okay you don't have to stay if you don't want to but you're welcome to stay all right and i anticipate that we will be acting on it tonight okay excellent all right good thank you motion to adjourn we have a motion to adjourn by all the boys now seconded by all
