▶ 0:01 Jennifer L. Lemmerman: Good evening. The hour being 740 on June 18th, 2018, I call to order the Appropriations Committee of the Melrose Board of Aldermen. This meeting is being recorded and broadcast live on MMTV. It's also available on the City of Melrose website and the MMTV website. I am the Chair, Alderman Lemmerman. I'm joined by Vice Chair, Alderman Forbes, as well as Committee Members Alderman Mortimer, Alderman Boisselle, Alderman Tramontozzi, Alderman Wright, Alderman Medeiros, President Zwirko, Alderman Bewtra, Alderman Lipper-Garabedian, and Alderman McMaster. Is there a motion to open the floor? So moved, Madam Chair. Second. We have a motion to open the floor for public comment made by Alderman Mortimer, seconded by Alderman Forbes.

The floor is now open to any members of the public who wish to come forward to speak on the one item before us this evening on our agenda. Motion to close the floor for public comment, Madam Chair. As I mentioned, we have one order before us this evening, Order 2018-204, modifying the city's vital records fee structure to be $18 for all requests for certified copies. Motion to suspend the rules. Second. Motion to suspend the rules made by President Search, seconded by Alderman Mortimer, so that we may hear from our city clerk, Amy Camosa, all in favor of suspension.

Good evening. so as I mentioned I was here for my budget hearing one of the things I discovered when I started the city clerk's office was that we charge an additional fee if you request birth certificates online or by mail and that's a $5 over what we would charge if someone comes into the city clerk's office and I'd like to align it back to the same price for everything and lower it to the $18 that we charge for in-person visits so that everyone regardless of whether they can make it to city hall during business hours pays the same rate motion to recommend this order for passage you have a motion to recommend for passage

Right, we generally try to get the orders out within 72 hours of receipt. But yeah, so it's 24-7 that you can order one online. Okay, that was all I had, thank you. Any additional questions?
