▶ 0:00 Mary Beth McAteer-Margolis: Good evening. Good evening. My name is Mary Beth McAteer-Margolis. I'm the chair of the Protection and License Committee. The Protection and License Committee will convene now with one order. In accordance with the Massachusetts General Laws, this meeting is being recorded and will be available for future viewing on the city website or MMTV. With us this evening as voting members of the committee, Alderman Monica Medeiros, Alderman Gail Inferna, Alderman Alderman Lemmerman and myself. Also from non-voting members from the full board, Alderman Peter Mortimer, Alderman Scott Forbes, Alderman Mike Zwirko, Alderman John Tramontozzi, and President Don Kahn. Do we? Motion to open for public participation.

Is there anyone from the public would like to come forward this evening to discuss the order that we have on our agenda see and then madam chairman motion to close public participation the order motion has been made and seconded to close public participation all in favor aye second opposed we have one order before us this evening it's 2018-2 the acceptance of the fiscal year 2017 underage alcohol enforcement grant in the amount of two thousand four hundred and ninety four dollars and eight cents from the commonwealth of massachusetts executive office of public safety and security said amount to be
▶ 1:38 Mary Beth McAteer-Margolis: deposited into fund number four zero zero eight we do have motion to suspend the rules do invite chief lyle up is there a second second uh alderman inferno moves seconded by alderman Lemmerman all in favor aye aye opposed uh yes we do have chief lyle with us this evening chief could you come forward and give us a little background and information on this grant please good evening thank you um this grant would have been pretty fortunate we've had it for the past couple years and what we've used it as is a tool to combat uh potty patrols so we're backfilling officers on bicycles and in cruises when need be weather permitting and we look for the hot spots in our community where the kids congregate engage them talk to them
▶ 2:29 Mary Beth McAteer-Margolis: and present a positive image for it's not a great deal of money but it every little bit helps thank you is there any members of the committee that have any questions or comments for the chief motion recommend for passage Alderman lemon has made a recommendation to recommend second debate alderman inferno uh alderman medeiros thank you take the vote uh thank you very much uh chief uh any matching funds it's it's not a non-matching grant non-matching grant and uh we've received this in the past this past year this past year and are we seeing a lot of parties out there or any more or less we see the remnants so we try to work with the primary areas are our two golf courses on the remote areas and see we see the remnants so we try to coordinate something with the golf
▶ 3:23 course management groups and place our patrols in those areas they're remote areas our biggest concern is worrying about somebody getting injured out there in the dark there's many areas that have rocks and cliffs thank you very much chief thank you all set there's a motion on the floor to recommend seconded do we second it all in favor aye opposed that order will be recommended uh to the full board later this evening at our full meeting thank you thank you now we have nothing else on our agenda this evening alderman Medeiros moves to adjourn seconded by alderman inferno all in favor opposed this meeting is adjourned stay tuned in a very short time for the full board meeting Thank you.
