Alderman Inferno moves and seconded by Alderman Lemmerman to close public participation. All in favor? Aye. And in keeping with the Massachusetts General Laws, this meeting is being recorded and future viewing on MMTV or through the city website. So we have a couple of orders here this evening. The first is 2016-64. It's an application for a common victual license to Nastassia.
▶ 13:52 Mary Beth McAteer-Margolis: Ubezicek, doing business as Theo's Pizzeria Corporation at 55 West Wyoming Ave in Melrose. So I believe we're probably still under suspension of the rules, so Ms. Nastassia, would you like to come forward? Yes, good evening everybody. So my name is Nastassia Yazubchik, and we are taking over Theo's Pizzeria. I am Theo's Pizzeria Corporation, And we're not planning on changing anything. We're not changing the menu. We're not changing the hours. We're not changing anything. The business works. And we hope to continue working with you guys, with the City of Melrose. Motion to recommend. Second. Alderman Vazell moves to recommend, seconded by Alderman Inferno. Is there any discussion or questions for the applicant?
▶ 14:48 Peter D. Mortimer: Mr. Mortimer. Thank you very much, Chairman McAteer-Margolis. I'm not a member of this committee, seeing that no committee members had their hands up i thought i'd weigh in and say theos provides excellent food it's a great boon to our community right there near the t-stop people who were working hard the commuter rail stop can come home get a satisfying and nutritious and delicious dinner take it home it's also there during the middle of the day it did not rise to the level of a conflict so i did not recuse myself but just for the record i want to note that theos does provide the luncheon for the Rotary Club of which you and I are members I'm not a member of this committee but I will be voting affirmatively on this at our next

Mortimer: meeting on Tuesday the 19th so I just want to make full disclosure that they do provide excellent food to the Rotary Club even putting that aside I think I can hardly recommend the order made the motion made by Alderman Inferno to recommend this for passage even though I'm not a member of this committee thank very much thank you so much you're welcome of course thank you alderman mortimer is there anyone else so we have a motion that's been made seconded duly uh all in favor aye aye opposed so that will go forward to the full board and then that will be meeting we'll be meeting next tuesday night and it may be that we are able to sign the license right then if not you'll have to just check back
▶ 16:19 Mary Beth McAteer-Margolis: with the city clerk in a few days okay okay thank you very much very much thank you for coming good luck you as well next item on the agenda is two zero one six dash six six it's a communication from the massachusetts state lottery commission regarding the keynote to go license at franklin market 463 franklin street in melrose we did consider this order prior to this meeting last month Alderman Medeiros motion to recommend this be placed on file we have had well we can do that we have had some communication from our president to the lottery correct which his letter is attached stating our objection I believe after checking with the city solicitor that the lottery is going to respond to Is that President Kahn?
▶ 17:19 Yeah, at our last meeting when we considered this order, the board voted to request that I send a letter to the Lottery Commission, indicating that we were not in favor of the grant of this license, which we did. Apparently somebody from the Lottery Commission contacted Mr. Van Campen, I wanted to know whether we understood what we were doing, which we try to at all times, and indicated that he wanted to send a letter from the Lottery Commission to the Board of Aldermen, which I believe will be forthcoming. And I think when we get that, we can deal with this order further. So, would you like to recommend that we, Alderman Medeiros, just would like to ask President Kahn if he suggests that I withdraw my motion to move it along or?
▶ 18:20 Mary Beth McAteer-Margolis: I'm not confident that we'll have a letter by Tuesday, although the gentleman did tell Mr. Van Kampen that he was going to send a letter this week. I don't think there's any urgent time clock on this. If the committee wants to keep it in committee, that's fine. If you move it along and we do have the letter on Tuesday, we could consider it. So, really would be up to the committee. Withdraw my motion. All right, the motion has been withdrawn and the second as well. So, just in terms of background, we currently have, well it's showing on the website for the state that there are nine, because it is showing Franklin Market as one of them. However, they have not obviously been approved, and they had it previously under their other ownership.
