CITY OF MELROSE PROTECTION AND LICENSE COMMITTEE CALENDAR● OCTOBER 19, 2015 Aldermanic Chamber Committee Meeting 7:30 PM The public should take notice that the Melrose Board of Aldermen may, on certain occasions, have a quorum in attendance due to standing committees of the Board of Aldermen consisting of both voting and non-voting members. With us this evening from the committee is Alderman Lemmerman, Alderman Boisselle, Alderman Medeiros, and Alderman Infurna. Before we proceed, we should announce that this meeting, in accordance with Massachusetts general laws, is being taped by MMTV for future viewing on their website, on the city website, or on your local cable access channels. Motion to open for public participation. Second. Alderman Inferno moves, seconded by Alderman Boisselle, to open the floor for public participation. Is there anyone in the audience that would like to participate this evening? Seeing none, do we have a motion to close?

Second. motion to close made by Alderman Inferno seconded by Alderman Boisselle all in favor aye thank you opposed we will begin with our one order this evening we have order number I'm not seeing the order number on here yes two zero one six dash two four it's an application of OB Ofamo doing business as Boston Jaunt LLC for a a livery service license for one vehicle at 49 Melrose Street, Apartment 4C, Melrose, Mass. And we do have the applicant with us this evening. If someone would like to make a motion to suspend the rules. So moved. Second. Alderman Inferno moves, seconded by Alderman Lemmerman. All in favor? ▶ 1:40 I neglected to inform you and the public that we do have several other members the board of aldermen with us this evening who are not on this committee we have alderman peter mortimer alderman scott forbes alderman jackie byrd and president donald khan so welcome to the board of alderman chambers and our meeting thank you um good evening ladies and gentlemen and and the Board of Aldermen. My name is Izu Obi Ofoma. I live in 49 Melrose Street, Apartment 4C, with my wife. Currently, I'm a full-time student at UMass Lowell. And I kind of decided to start the livery business because I worked for Boston Coach for a little while, gained some experience, and felt I needed to support the family with a business.
▶ 2:53 Mary Beth McAteer-Margolis: So I decided to start that, and that's why I'm applying for this license today. Thank you. Is there anyone on the committee who has any questions for Mr. Ofamu? Anyone who, oh, Alderman Medeiros. Thanks, thank you, I just wanna point out that I do see that is in our packet that you have a letter from the Melrose Towers where you live saying that they are okay with you garaging your car and your vehicle there. So I just wanted to make sure we include that in the record. Thank you, yes, we do have all of Mr. Ofamu's documents order his application is complete with a sign-off from both the fire and police department his insurance is up-to-date and as Alderman Medeiros has indicated he has a letter from the property manager at the board at the Melrose
