Be it the hour of 730, I would like to call to order the Public Service Committee of the Melrose Board of Aldermen. My name is Jacqueline Bird. I am the chair of this committee, and with us this evening we have Vice Chairman Alderman Wright, Alderman Tramontozzi, Alderman Mortimer, and President Conn are the voting members of this committee, along with Alderman Boisselle and Alderman Medeiros, who are non-voting members of the committee. Notice is hereby given that this meeting is being recorded and will be rebroadcast on MMTV. Motion to open the floor for public participation, Madam Chairman. Thank you. Alderman Mortimer opens for public participation.

Ms. Broda as well from Memorial Hall. Good evening, Mr. Izzy. Would you like to say a few words just as an introduction? Sure. I'd be happy to. I'm Louis Izzy. I'm honored to be here this evening as, I suppose, a candidate for appointment of trustee for the Soldiers and Sailors Home. I submitted a letter for the record outlining a few things about myself.
▶ 2:11 I'm happy to answer any questions that any of the aldermen may have. Briefly, I've been a resident of Melrose for 17 years. I live here with my wife and my three children. Like many in this room, it was a draw to Melrose, and that draw was my wife, and I fell in love with this community. I've been here ever since, and I just appreciate the fact that I live and work in a place with such great people. And so whatever I can do to help in any way possible to contribute to the city, I'm happy to do it. So, if you have any questions with me, I'm happy to answer them. Mr. President Kahn. Yeah, I don't have any questions, but Mr. Rizzi, I know you're very busy, you're involved in a lot of activities.

Mortimer: re-appointment of John Mercer Jr. 62 E Street to the Park Commission for a five year term. term to end on the first Monday of May 2020 motion to recommend this reappointment second the motion was made by Alderman Tramontozzi seconded by Alderman Wright there any discussion just before the quick vote I'll just say something on behalf of mr. Mercer just he's been serving on the Park Commission for a long time great guy his kids and his nephews and nieces have gone all through the Melrose schools playing sports playing all the parks he was part of the team of 1982 that went to the Super Bowl the first one that went and then his son was on the Super Bowl team last year so he's well steeped in the

Mortimer: athletics and the Park Department of Melrose they have their meetings at Mount Hood the biggest park and he's always at all the meetings and has a lot of good things to say and always walked the trails at Mount Hood to take a look at some of the situations up there so uh he does the job uh he does it well and uh he's a good person that we have in our community thank you thank you alderman mortimer i'm sure he'll appreciate those kind words is there any further discussion okay seeing none on the motion all in favor right any opposed that motion will be recommended um uh sorry that order will be recommended at our full board later this evening that concludes the business for public service adjourn second to adjourn by alderman chairman tozy seconded by alderman mortimer all in favor
