Next is appropriation 2023 dash 35 and appropriation from free cash account zero one dash 3 24 0 0 1 in the amount of 75,000 Public Works administrative budget 4 0 1 for accessibility projects. And tonight we have D P W Director Atlanta ProE Casas, and Deputy Director Jim Troupe here to speak on this order.

▶ 1:28:42 Speaker 1: Thank you. Um, so we'll be brief on all of our free cash orders unless, uh, folks have questions, but we did, um, have them as one of our slides during our budget presentation. So we'll just briefly cover each one as they come up. Um, the ADA request is following up on the mayor's office project, um, where they did the accessibility study for all the municipal buildings and properties and, um, there was a lengthy list and we went through that list and tried to identify what we were referring to as the low hanging fruit, um, to be able to knock off as many of the items from the recommendations as we can with this first $75,000. So things like signage, pipe insulation, um, railings, sort of simple things that we can do that we can procure fairly easily and hopefully accomplish fairly quickly.

Um, just so there's a list of items in your memo, um, is the expectation that we would, we would accomplish all of these things across the city, which seems pretty unlikely with $75,000. I guess, you know, I think, I know we hear from members of the community about some of these issues. I personally was at Ward six residence house who has a, um, resident in a wheelchair with sidewalk repair concerns. Like how are we messaging what exactly is gonna get done with 75,000?

▶ 1:30:13 Speaker 1: So the sidewalk repairs that are mentioned here are specific to the city properties. So the, the report that was done was focusing on city properties and city, um, Buildings, Uh, building, yeah, the interior of city buildings and then the exterior of city properties, both schools and municipal buildings. Um, so those are the sidewalks mentioned here. Something like that is something we would put on our sidewalk assessment list. And then we would most likely after we evaluate it, create a work order. Um, and that would get in the queue either for us to in-house, replace the sidewalk panels if we can, if it's a small enough area or put it on our list for replacement. Um, we don't have a free cash order this year for sidewalk replacements as we have in the past, so we're somewhat limited in what we can do this year, but we do have some money, um, in our operating budget. And so I'm sure if there's a specific situation like that, we would be able to address it.

▶ 1:31:05 Jen Grigoraitis: Yeah. And I put in a request. Um, so, okay, so the sidewalk repairs are in front of city property. What about the crosswalk signals? Is that, are there certain ones that we've identified as being at the biggest high risk? I'm assuming we're not doing every crosswalk.

▶ 1:31:19 Speaker 1: Yeah, so those, we've been trying to identify, um, the highest needs ones in performing those repairs with the wrap funding that we have, um, which is like chapter 90 funding. And we've done Maine at Upham, we've purchased for Maine at Foster and for Maine at Sylvan. So those are, are gonna get done either way. Um, this would be more if they're just ancillary items, smaller, smaller ticket items cuz those signals are 25,000 each.
