Chief Faller replied that it's a common grant and the amount is matched to the number of 911 calls received. And Melrose Police Department has been awarded 8- $18,000 to defray the cost of one year of emergency service from the Armstrong Ambulance Services. Uh, quick note, um, the ID order shows $18,000, but the award was really $25,000. If you look at all your backup and your paperwork, it's $25, so I'll let the chief speak. If this is gonna be recommended, we just need to amend the dollar amount.
▶ 17:40 Speaker 2: Chief? Awards- Sure. Thank you. Uh, and I apologize, the $18,000 was a clerical, uh, typo, uh, when we submitted it originally, but the actual contract and grant is for $25,000. This is, uh, uh, an EOPPPS Grant for 911, and basically the $25,000 pays for Armstrong to be, uh, emergency medical dispatch for the City of Melrose.

▶ 18:46 Kimberly Vandiver: Uh, thank you, Chair Garipay. I was just curious what, um, what the state's looking for when they award this type of grant, and what ma- made Melrose eligible for this type of a grant?
▶ 18:56 Speaker 2: Um, it's pretty much a standard grant, um, that every agency that has a PSAP, uh, 911 grant, is eligible to get reimbursed for whoever the EMD dispatcher is. So it's, uh, it's very common. Uh, and the, the, the amount is set by, uh, I would assume by Armstrong (murmurs) . It's their fee. I have some paperwork here for it. It's, uh, it's kind of prorated zero to 2,999 calls is, is, uh, priced at $25,000, and it goes up sequentially. So our call volume is sort of based on that, that fee.
