▶ 1:31:58 Speaker 7: Um, good evening. Good evening Council. I'm Jay Coy, deputy City Engineer. Um, so as an MVP community that has received prior MVP funding, we are required to enter into this MVP 2.0 program, um, which is a $100,000 grant split over two years. Um, the way the grant works is the first 50,000, um, will be used to convene a community team, um, revisit our resiliency priorities. Um, and then for the second $50,000, it's to implement a seed project. Um, we don't have any ideas what we're going to be doing yet for the seed projects, but some examples are, um, improving wetland buffers, creating cooling spaces like tree plantings, pop-up parks, um, shade structures, splash pads, things like that. Um, or other, um, examples are, uh, conversion of impervious areas to community green space. Um, there's no financial impact or cash match to the city, um, other than just city time, um, creating this project.

So the one that Melrose won individually, um, was a design of the city hall parking lot. Correct. Flood, um, impact. Um, we have since tried to obtain funding to actually construct it, um, and have not been successful. Yes. I parked in one of the flooded spots today. Yes. It's a good remain. Um, there have been three others that we've been, that we've done as, um, with other communities, but, so not Melrose specific MVP grants, but that was the, the parking lot was the one that we won individually. Yeah. Yeah. So the first $50,000 is gonna be a planning process. Do you envision there being public participation As part of this? Yes. Absolutely. Um, and, uh, what do you think that would look like? Yeah, and I, I mentioned that there's a community team and to my knowledge, someone on that team has to be a resident, um, that's not, uh, an employee. Okay. Yep. And what is the seed project? So that is the implementation of the design. I see. Um, so the 50,000 is to build, Come up with An idea, install whatever that we come up with for that design. Okay. Thank you. Yep. Absolutely.
