▶ 2:49:25 Speaker 5: Yeah. In collaboration with the Mayor's office. Uh, last year, uh, we saw the construction of a beautiful memorial up in the knoll for the veterans. Uh, the DPW funded that, uh, at the direction of, uh, the Veterans Commission. And, uh, the budget just vastly exceeded what we had available. We called on a contractor to perform some in-kind services, so there were no, no cost to the city on that. They just fulfilled their obligation as part of their contract. But then we, uh, put flowers to make it ready for the Memorial Day, uh, services and, uh, programs. Uh, this was something that we talked about last year. And again, in collaboration with the Mayor's office and, uh, specifically the chief of staff here, uh, we have, uh, identified a funding need of approximately $8,000 to properly, uh, you know, seed plants, flowers that will come up in bloom every year. Uh, not only here, but also with any remaining monies to spread throughout other veterans' memorials throughout the city. Thank you. Thank you.

Yeah, no, um, I, um, what he said is true and then after, um, DPW had to kind of hustle last year to make it look good, I went up there just, uh, about a month ago with Joe Hobbs and Kevin Naughton, just, I'm sure you've been up to the Gold Star Memorial. Um, and it's not something that we can sustain in the operating budget, but ahead of Memorial Day, we needed to look good for our veterans. Um, so this is a way that I think the team can get creative and, and make it look nice ahead of that.

The monument came out great. I do think in the long run, this will probably save us some money than having to plant all those flowers in that star. And, um, I think, uh, I think it, uh, could look great, the flowers, but I think this money will go a long way and beautifying that a little bit better.
