▶ 2:17:21 Speaker 5: Thank you, Mr. Chair. Uh, again, annual, uh, allocation. This has been, uh, something that we've appeared in front of the council and the committee, uh, a number of occasions. Uh, this is for, uh, sidewalk repair throughout the city. It is not ward specific, it is citywide and the amount of $50,000 we currently have, uh, numbers consistent with the, uh, memo in front of you. Uh, there are 56 asphalt, uh, work orders open right now. 95 concrete, 34 safety and 86 assessments, uh, out there that are, um, to be addressed and to be addressed soon. This 50,000 would replace approximately 115 concrete sidewalk panels, and it would be done through a combination of in-house as well as contracted services. Thank you. Any questions? It's got a big orange stripe on it, so that might float to the top of the list if it is, uh, if it happens to be on the list. As long as I think it has.

▶ 2:19:11 Kimberly Vandiver: You. Um, is there anything, I guess, um, about these repairs that are constantly coming up? Typically, um, is there anything that can be done to, to make them last longer? Are there areas that come up again and again because of the same tree root or, or anything like that?

▶ 2:19:27 Speaker 9: So we have made an effort in our tree planting program to plant species that don't typically have the root uplift problems. Um, so I think we've been a little more deliberate about that than maybe, you know, some of these hundred year old giant oak trees and such that are planted in a tiny grass strip. Um, we also, we try to be strategic about where we're doing asphalt sidewalks versus concrete. I mean, in the replacement program, we're mostly just replacing, but in, um, new sidewalk installation where we're doing long stretches, um, we do concrete in areas that are, we consider sort of the more urban parts of town. And we, we tend to do asphalt in areas that are more sort of woodsy. And the asphalt tends to be much easier to maintain when it gets lifted up by tree roots. It, it's easier to go up and over things.
