▶ 1:14:44 Devin Romanul: Alright, welcome back to the third and final installment of the Legal and Legislative Committee meeting. Our final item tonight, ID number 1 2 7 4 4 amending chapter 2 28 of the revised ordinances of the City of Melrose Water, sewer, and Drains.

▶ 1:14:58 Speaker 5: Thank you. Um, so this is the third and final of our ordinance amendments. Um, that was similarly run through the bullet points. So this clarifies the ownership of fire services to private properties clarifies the ownership of domestic water services to private properties that are over two inches in diameter. In both cases, we traditionally have assumed or not assumed, but consider those to be owned by the private property owner. So if there's a problem with the fire service in the portion that's under the street, the city doesn't want to own that. It's usually six inch ductile iron pipe. It's expensive to replace. Um, but the ordinance never clarified that. So we're clarifying those, um, clarifying requirements pertaining to domestic water services to multiple buildings on the same property or multiple services to a single building. Um, that actually comes into play with the A DU discussion as well. We've been asked some questions recently, um, and felt that we needed that clarified. Uh, removing some language about sewer material materials that are conflicting with the state's plumbing code. Uh, updating references in the stormwater section to the stormwater design and construction standards rather than rules and regulations because that's just not what we ended up calling our document. Um, clarifying the applicability of our stormwater permitting program. Updating language and regulatory references for consistency with the city's stormwater nty permit and clarifying ownership of private stormwater infrastructure, which is usually installed during major redevelopment projects as part of the engineering division's conditions for the planning board decisions, um, clarifying that those are then owned and maintained by the private property owner.
