Medeiros: thank you thank you mr. president I just wanted to thank the people who have come before us to speak tonight and both in our committee meeting last week on this order it's been a lot of interest from the public and I wanted to point out that we started off the committee meeting last week with some words from our city solicitor Mr. Van Campen who you know strongly showed us that voting on this question is not for us to be voting on the merits of the question itself but whether or not to place this on the ballot so any of our votes today are not necessarily indications that we endorse this proposal or that we oppose this proposal although we may all have personal opinions towards it and I just wanted to point that out and of course remind everyone that this is a general fund override which had been discussed in committee as well so the first year the funds must be used for the purposes in the question and then beyond that the money would go into the general fund to be distributed wherever the mayor and the future Board of Aldermen so thank you with all due respect to mr. van
