▶ 55:45 Peter D. Mortimer: The next matter to come before the Appropriations Committee is Order No. 2017-141. It is the Mount Hood operating budget in the amount of $1,564,505.59. We have our Director of Parks and Trees, Joan Bell, along with one of our Park Commissioners, Mr. James Lane. Good evening, lady and gentlemen.

▶ 56:18 Speaker 1: Hi, Superintendent Joan Bell of Mount Hood and Public Open Space. and with me James Lane commissioner I thought I'd give you just a few highlights of the year that we've had at Mount Hood I'm coming into June it looks like we're gonna meet or exceed expectations from last year's figures some of the things that we've done if it stops raining and mother nature works with us the course is in right now superb condition it's playing great it looks great some of the things that we did last year was we for capital improvements we grinded out the the driveway horseshoe around the building where we do loading docks and handicap accessibility we grinded out repaved it redesigned the 18th T with new granite stairs crushed stones pathways floral beds we did extensive tree work to open up views of the ponds and to let some sunlight in on greens and fairways to help them grow a little a little better we added Wi-Fi to the clubhouse building and a screen in what we call the car room which is opened up the availability to hold small business conferences I know CVS had one up there this year we always host our senior day with the Mount Hood Park Association we just had it it was over a hundred and ten seniors we have our senior barbecue coming up fourth of July event the winter fest we did over the winter which was free to most kids on vacation seven eight hundred kids we had a golf course is used by not only Melrose high school teams for practices and tryouts but we also host MC Everett Austin prep Saugus and Malden has just notified us that they're interested to see if they can get their team up there next year we just had a huge US kids golf foundation last Saturday that had 90 over 90 kids from age 6 to 14 so a whole new group of new golfers hopefully coming up I don't know if Jim wants to add anything I just

▶ 1:00:23 Mary Beth McAteer-Margolis: please you've had a great year up there and and as well as in the parks department to congratulations do you have any major projects planned for the coming year I think what we're going to concentrate on is we have cart paths a lot of car paths that still need to be done the Mountwood tower parking lot and Tower Road so as far as you know outdoor stuff those are kind of the areas we're going to concentrate on and the work that's leading up to the tower that you're discussed talking about will that will that mean that that something we're going to do something with the tower well we're actually hoping we actually have our next pocket mission meeting a couple of the renters the antennas on top I come in to speak with us and I think that's part of what the Park Commission has talked about that they would like to get them to help us fund maybe some repairs and mm-hmm yeah well we that's great we heard the superintendent in the schools talking about being creative in their funding and I know you folks are always looking for opportunities too so I think that would be it's great it's a beautiful spot and love to be able to see it more accessible for the public too yeah so thank you Thank You alderman MacMaster
