We just met prior to this and protection and license and had recommended it to be placed on file and I'd like to move it to be placed on file. Alderman

Zwirko: Thank You mr. president just as a point of information for the board I contacted not only the executive secretary of the lottery but also the gentleman who was the author of the email the reason I did so was I was inquiring if there were any other cities and towns in the Commonwealth that banned Kino via monitors I wanted to find if there was a legislative way that we as a city could prevent these requests from coming up from time to time since there was some discussion at the meeting in which this order was first introduced the gentleman who authored the email he said very blatant very straight that we will always honor that which the city in town seeks to change or modify the request that comes in from a petitioner and he knows of no cities and towns that have outright banned Kino via a monitor the executive secretary of the lottery further stated that in order to do so would be under his interpretation that it would be home rule and would need to go through the state so I very long-winded way of saying we may see these come up from time to time and should we want to continue the practice of not having Kino via a monitor within in the border of the city of Melrose, we need to continue to reject them as we did here.
