Tramontozzi: put forth by alderman alderman's work home and he's seeking to amend rule one to read as follows rule one regular meeting of the board of aldermen shall be held on the first and third mondays of of each month at 7 45 p.m. except one during July and August when there shall be one meeting each month on the third Monday to when an election is to be held the following day the meeting shall be held on the following Monday and three when said Monday falls on a holiday the meeting shall be held on the Tuesday

▶ 13:31 John N. Tramontozzi: following such holiday so the amendment is to remove September from section one where it says meetings held except during July, August, and September, so just July and August. Alderman Zwerchholz, do you want to take it further?

▶ 13:45 Michael P. Zwirko: Sure, thank you, Mr. Chairman. Quite simply, I was looking at this. I don't, after Labor Day, generally summer's over, even though summer technically ends in late September. I didn't really see the need to have summer sessions continue into September. We had a case this year alone where we had to have an emergency meeting in late August. if we had the meeting that would occur on the first Monday of September if that would have been in need we also run into some issues where the calendar kind of gets a little bit stacked in the fall if it's an election year Columbus Day holiday Thanksgiving Veterans Day things can come up and then all of a sudden you've got a very packed calendar you know there are some things in the fall that we deal with that we always wish that we had a little bit more time to discuss I think by alleviating and removing September that alleviates a little bit of the calendar pressures that we have so that was really the reason it's just that just see it as just a common-sense removal keep July and August as is and then just return September to the rest of the calendar
