▶ 2:07 Speaker 1: could you introduce yourself again to the community please yes um oh this is my name is ellie ferris and i am acting president for the student council um at mvms following a one-year term as vice president there so since school started on August 30th a lot of exciting progress has been made at MVMS rehearsals for the fall musical once on this island are underway after a record-breaking 92 students auditioned and the MS sports teams had have kicked off their seasons and are off to a great start ie the field hockey and football teams there's certainly a lot of of enthusiasm to be seen in these areas election dates are for student for student council have been announced in ballot forms administered to all those interested in running the election dates are October 31st for sixth graders and October 10th for seventh and eighth graders including myself product impact is holding interviews for the many returning and new applicants interested in the 40 spots this year so there's a lot of interest in that area obviously and broadcast in other clubs like the GSA have begun making for exciting and enriching afternoons for all participating students and open house slash curriculum night was held for all parents of the students last week and is my understanding that the event was very well received by those who attended lastly an essay contest was administered by veterans of foreign wars was announced to the students all participants will have a chance to buy for a five thousand dollar scholarship at the national level thank you that is

▶ 3:44 Jessica Dugan: thanks thanks for the report I am curious one of the exciting shifts this year was that some of the eighth graders would be merging some classes with high school teachers and I don't know if you personally or any of your peers have experienced that and if that is something that's been fun exciting hard

▶ 4:05 Speaker 1: any of those things um yeah well I have some friends who are in the advanced math class which is held in the high school and I myself have been going to a Latin classroom in the high school for the past year and this will be my second year so I think it's it's an overall great experience to kind of mix in with like the high school life that most of us will be attending to next year and also on another similar note we have experimented with students switching teams for different classes so they may be on one team say having their homeroom on that team and having a class like science or history on another team so
