O'Connell good evening folks welcome to policy and planning we're leaving the mass policy update horse in the barn this week we do have two other agenda items though the first relates to our school committee self-evaluation process the packet includes a memo aligning the process closed readers will see that substantially similar to what we did last year and the year before for that matter likewise the self-evaluation grid that we use individually to record our comments the process this year as contemplated has us completing our respective self evaluations and the grids more particularly in time for submission to the packet for our 1128 meeting that I realize as I say it brings into play Thanksgiving so I'm sure miss Hogan will inform us or perhaps the superintendent will as to when those need to be submitted likewise if we stay with this schedule committee members will be afforded time at the 1128 meeting for comments on the self-evaluation highlights or lowlights as they may be and finally the expectation again if we stay with this proposed schedule is that this subcommittee will report out on our collective evaluation at our 1212 meeting part of the impetus behind getting this done in a timely fashion is to share it of course with our committee members to be madam chair does this require a vote no it does not okay please

▶ 2:33:09 Margaret Raymond Driscoll: mr. but I would just recommend that to address the situation with Thanksgiving and just in terms of open meeting law I would invite everybody maybe with the indulgence of the chair to bring their hard copies as we did with the superintendent's evaluation then should it be the interest of the chair in in receiving comments everyone can certainly comment and then deliver those directly to mrs. Hogan following our meeting for inclusion and then you would be able to see those and draft your summary terrific so bring the completed

▶ 2:34:01 Speaker 3: questions miss McAllister grant I think when we've done the superintendent's evaluation she's often emphasized how valuable the conversation is as as part of evaluation I don't necessarily need this to happen for this year because we're sort of far along in the process here but I'd like us to think about that piece perhaps one of our retreats could be could include a conversation around the evaluation I know that we bring it up as an agenda item in the meeting but I can't say that this format is necessarily the most what's the word I'm looking for suitable to really delving into reflection and evaluation but I'd like us to just think about that as we move forward good point well taken any
