Fogarty hello thanks for being here thanks for having currently we have 14 skaters on a hockey team that's 9th 10th 11th and 12th graders we have one goalie that which makes 15 and we have two students in the eighth grade that would be interested in joining the team so I'm requesting that we have a waiver to allow those eighth graders to join with the high school motion by mayor

▶ 25:55 Speaker 7: they're typical numbers that we've had over the last three or four years so i haven't spoken with melrose youth hockey to see where if there is an increase coming up but currently that's about what we've had the last couple years um there's a little bit of trending with some of those uh female hockey skaters that are going to a private school so our program is about 11 years old right now we had six years where we were joined with watertown and last six or seven years we've been on our own and um right now a little bit of a slump i think we had a couple more last year i think we're closer to 17. so hopefully we can rebound have a successful year

▶ 27:06 Speaker 7: The youth hockey programs, that's the place to start. Again, this is my 16th month in the seat, so I'm still starting to figure out some of those things. Mr. Sorrento, he works in the high school, also highly involved with the Melrose Youth Hockey. He and I have talked about this a little bit, and hopefully we can attract some more of those kids to the program.

▶ 27:27 Christine Casatelli: Well, it's a great program, and it's grown over the years, and we'd like to be able to sustain the numbers and get more girls to play.
