▶ 2:48:34 Speaker 3: international welcome reception by the Human Rights Commission was not quite two weeks ago they unveiled a new logo there was press coverage I encourage you to go and look at the logo it's pretty awesome but it was well attended as as always, and there was a good breadth of diversity present.

▶ 2:49:04 Speaker 4: DESE board meeting today, first time I ever went, fascinating process. But more importantly for our purposes, they began consideration of revisions to the history and social science framework. They are substantial revisions. it appears they're going to vote to approve them late winter early spring contemplating there after a two-year rollout and also talking I think rightly about whether and what kind of assessment they should be but I think in that respect we're talking for three or four years out most importantly a heavy emphasis on civic education and including a full-year 8th grade civics class which I think was a bit of a surprise to some folks so that's it
