▶ 1:43 Speaker 1: I'll go first. My part of the transaction is to move money, $10,360 from parking receipts into payroll. In the last year, as you well know, we introduced the Merchant Parking Sticker Program, which I guess from what I hear is a resounding success as far as clearing up those things. With that comes a cost, a resource cost on our end. We issued 775 free merchant stickers last year and 27 all-purpose $600-a-piece stickers last year for a total of 802 transactions. um these are all new customers and transactions that require time with the people education we have to validate their the ability for them to obtain the pass we have to document it and keep that document documentation and last but not least we have to adjudicate it because this program has created a bunch of it seems to be the rule if you get a pocket ticket you appeal it and we have to go through a process to do that we currently have one one parking clerk at seven hours a week my staff has been supporting this program and they did so over the whole year it wasn't fair to the customers it wasn't fair to every to my staff frankly that we had such a limited resource for which is now a much bigger program so we've added a second parking clerk um 14 hours a week at 20 an hour and that's what this money represents for the rest of the year so now we'll be able to provide resources to the parking community three days a week instead of one and it will balance the load and take some of the burden off of the people who stepped up last year

▶ 3:49 Speaker 2: As far as the police department, the $18,000 is a first year lease for two new motorcycles. Our current motorcycle is no longer usable. We're on a loaner program right now for about seven weeks, and this is to replace one of them. And to get an additional one to support the police department in enforcement activities, we're going to have two motorcycle officers out in the spring. Obviously, the officer that's riding now will ride through the winter, as long as the weather permits.

Yeah, I just have a couple of quick questions, Mr. Chairman. Is this new parking clerk going to be an existing city employee, or is it going to be somebody else?

We should be at least two days a week, but initially we also have to modernize it. We have to put in some programs and initiate some things, so I think over the rest of this year that's certainly.
