Wright Jr.: to suspend the rule so thank you as many of you may recall alderman Kahn when he was president of this board last year appointed a committee of myself all the president's work though and alderman then president and now mayor Infurna to work with the human resources director Marianne long to find candidates for the position of city clerk as mayor Rita O'Shea has indicated that she will be leaving at the end of April so we did that we met several times including for interviews and there were I believe in excess of two dozen applicants we interviewed three candidates and we were unanimous that the best candidate for that position is Amy Camosa Amy showed sincere interest in the position we found her as I believe you have to be very professional she has a depth of understanding of the city's systems and City Hall and she gets along with city staff very well and she has shown herself to have a knowledge and ability to learn quickly and uh she she works well with uh all the departments here in city hall that she has to interact with um we've also found that amy has worked well uh and you know historically based on her work experience uh with the public so based on that um we are recommending amy camosa as the next city clerk for the city of melrose under suspension i'd like to bring forward the human

▶ 45:21 Speaker 6: you um my comments tonight are um really echoing what alderman wright has already said first of all i really want to thank you for considering this appointment immediately in the event you do approve this appointment uh it's time to then begin recruitment for the clerk of committees and time we can't waste time so on behalf of the selection committee we highly recommend amy for the following reasons during the one year that she has been the clerk of committee she's improved the legislative systems ensuring efficiency and transparency she is very familiar with melrose's legislative process and works very cooperatively with mary rita o'shea and her staff amy serves with professionalism and has the respect and support of her fellow department heads she's always asking the question is there a better way of doing this among others other skills amy brings the following attention to detail project management customer service advanced technological expertise ability to improve processes systems oral and written communication skills the ability to learn and master new subject matters and she has the ability to lead terms i'm sorry teams toward shared goals thank you uh so at this

Wright Jr.: alderman wright just on a personal note um i just wanted to point out and a note i should say that as someone who has worked in a city hall for almost two decades and worked with two very well respected and highly qualified city clerks i find that amy has a lot of the same skills and temperament that those individuals have and i think that she could step right in based on her experience working as mrs long pointed out with mary rita over the past year or so and hit the ground running so thank you alderman wright i'd like to echo those sentiments
