This does come from us from the Appropriations Committee with a recommend of passage. This will be a roll call vote.

Medeiros: with this board that i had the pleasure today of thanking the lieutenant governor at the local government advisory commission meeting um where and speaking on this issue to talk about how it affected melrose and so it was um it was great to talk about how these initiatives kind of a culmination of initiatives between being designated as a housing choice community and getting this sort of carrot on the stick for the good work that we've done creating 525 new building new housing permits and using the complete streets

Medeiros: program and some of the things that we've done even with mass works and that grant in order to entice development and make our community right to have this opportunity we all see that affordable housing is is certainly at a crisis and we just heard in the previous meeting you know the superintendent say certainly that two teachers you know making $100,000 combined would have a hard time to find housing here and you know we can see on on clear gov that are actually meeting in household income here in Melrose is only eighty seven thousand dollars so there's a problem you know even for many of our residents trying to keep up with affording where we are right now and you know almost that crisis thank you thank you on
