▶ 1:46:34 Jennifer McAndrew: and facilities tonight we have one item on the agenda which is the summer maintenance maintenance and capital improvements for our school buildings there are two documents in a packet one is the annual summer maintenance and then one of this one is the special projects in addition to that annual summer maintenance superintendents or anything

▶ 1:46:57 Speaker 4: you want to say about this I know I will tell you the work on the auditorium at the middle school has begun we've had a truck all week and the end of last week and I got two emails today from in wait showing me snapshots of the new audio system being installed and of the new carpets being installed so again I remind everybody we have a very short window in which to do that work Wakefield repertory began on Monday so we're trying to get that done and get out of their way and more extensive work will take place in the fall again once we stop using the auditorium for the summer we have about a six to eight week window before it's used heavily again and we'll try to get some more work done at the auditorium at that time of year the rest of this some of this is pretty standard this is the first summer I have been here that we do not have a building project thank you are there any questions or comments from the committee

▶ 1:48:44 Jennifer McAndrew: things that one you covered I wanted to draw attention to the auditorium upgrades I would just add to that that one of the reasons that's so important is because it's a source of major rental income to the district and also just a wonderful facility from the community when we see on here like 13 classroom moves 12 classroom things like that at different buildings is that a reflection of the um our enrollment situation where we're moving one year there's four third grades but

▶ 1:49:20 Speaker 4: the next year it's you know three that sort of thing so our our objective is always to try to have um the grades the uh the grade level classrooms as close to each other as possible so every year we may move them around in that effort it's not always possible so for example i believe next year at winthrop we're going to have two classes on the first floor and then but at the staircase so that right above it on the next level is the third classroom but we do try to do that um some of it's also a matter of efficiencies so um we have the otpt room at roosevelt again takes up a huge room it's a double basically a classroom and a half and we've determined we can move it to a smaller space take that space subdivide it and get some other space out of it um so we do a lot of that type of rearranging also in the summer great
