▶ 1:32:28 Jennifer McAndrew: thank you thank you thank you and good evening everyone um for finance and facilities tonight we have three agenda items the technology plan update the review of our revolving accounts and the disposition of surplus material first up we'll do the technology plan this is on for an update to the committee from the superintendent not a vote and I'll just note that we are approaching the end of the five-year plan represented here and I'll turn it over to the superintendent to give us some updates thank you

▶ 1:33:04 Speaker 4: I would not say we're approaching I would say it's done over and I'm presenting it to you tonight really so that we can close it out so it's interesting it's just amazing how fast this has gone we started this five years ago Sun Associates were brought in the Alderman supported a technology audit of the city and the school side and we came up with what then was a sound plan Jeff Sun had done similar endeavors with many school systems technology went faster than the plan that's the bottom line never thinking that by 2020 we would have converted to Chrome BYOD Google ad never mind being all the other software programs that we use on a regular basis that every purchase we made of textbook would come with a digital copy so as far as the Technology Committee is concerned there is no place left to go on this so what we are seeking to do is as you know in the new contract we sort of reinvented the Technology Committee we broadened it so that we had wider representation from all levels mr. Ellis serves on it within the contract it says he will be there and he we had our first meeting last week and we want to give the Technology Committee a chance to rethink what are the next steps for Melrose having pretty much fulfilled this plan we now have three digital literacy specialists we've returned 1.5 library media specialists we have the academic facilitator at the high school we have very strong talented LMS's at the middle in the high school and we built out the Learning Commons with all its technology so I think we have exceeded what we envisioned in 2015
