▶ 29:38 Kate Lipper-Garabedian: good evening the hour being 7 29 on monday december 16th the appropriations committee of the melrose city council's call to order i am the chair of the committee uh city councilor kate lipper garabedian and i'm joined tonight by vice chair counselor Boisselle and voting members counselors mortimer tramontosi wright medeiros Zwirko butra mcmaster and mcnaught as well as president forbes this meeting is being recorded in accordance with the open meeting law and is available um streaming right now on television and on mmtv's website and will be available through the city of melrose's website thereafter motion to open the floor for public comment madam

▶ 30:46 Speaker 4: so much for joining us hi my name is Rebecca Baraldi for those of you who we don't already know each other I'm the owner of Beacon Hill Wine and Gourmet at 538 Main Street right across the way I actually am not going to say what I think I was planning on saying just because I don't really know what everyone's opinions are on this subject matter so rather than coming in with what I was prepared to say I think what I'm going to do is just let you know that for obvious reasons i am clearly in support of the conversion of the license to allow spirits for an all adult beverage format license here in town and i've been here for 10 years i'm closing out my 11th holiday season here and i am interested and looking forward if given the opportunity to speak with any and all of you and answer any questions that you may have regarding the industry spirits in general demographics retail landscape distribution landscape and things of that nature I don't know what the format is for this type of a meeting I apologize I don't live in town I can just clarify for you we can't actually ask you questions okay so this is your one chance to sort of share with us your perspective I wish I could do that this is a very detailed conversation unfortunately it's not something that i think i could come up here and just verbally lay it all out for you um i can tell you that i am obviously in support of it and if not tonight maybe at another juncture if there's opportunity for conversation i would definitely welcome it okay absolutely thank you so much motion to close public comment
