So 11 votes have been cast for Councilor Cinella and with that Christopher Cinella has been duly nominated by the members of this caucus to be the newly elected president of the Meadow City Council for the year 2021 and in accordance with the rules of order the term will become Effective upon our formal election on in the 1st meeting in January, which this year will be held January 4th, 2021. normally we would escort counselor to the rostrum to say a few words. So, I guess I'll just turn it over to him now.

▶ 7:25 Christopher Cinella: Thank you. Do you want me to just walk out and come back in? You do it that way? No, thank you. President for the nomination and all of you for your support. I accept the nomination and I appreciate the vote of confidence. It would be an honor and a privilege to serve as president of the city council. I want to just take another moment though to thank President Grigoraitis for her service to this council and to this city. She has shown true leadership this past year during the challenging times like some the likes of which the city hasn't seen since 1918. And you know a year ago if you think about it the majority of us had never held elected office. And if you think back to some of our first meetings and the obstacles we faced seemed pretty trivial in retrospect. How do we view split view in IQM2? How do you even log on to IQM2? How do you even make a motion? And then there's waiting for that little green light to come on the mic. Who would have predicted two months into our term we'd be faced with a pandemic and while while still learning the rule of being a new city councilor having to shift on the fly and meet remotely and continue the city's business as a council we have met these challenges and demonstrated the resiliency and dedication to the citizens of melrose necessary to ensure that our city continues to function efficiently and as we continue to work through these and other challenges to come i look forward to working collaboratively in order to ensure that the essential work of this city council is handled in a deliberate and efficient manner always mindful that the interests of all melroseans are represented in this body so thank you thank you councillor
