Our 1st order before us tonight is order 2021 dash 97, amending article 7 section 198 dash 20 of the revised ordinances of the city of Melrose entitled sustainable food containers and packaging. Do we have anyone from the administration we do? So, in anticipation of that, I'll entertain a motion to suspend the rules.

▶ 20:04 Speaker 3: Can you hear me? Okay. Madam chair members of the committee, thank you very much for for giving me this opportunity to appear for you this evening. This is a sort of a housekeeping measure. One of the things that we have realized. During the ongoing 19 global pandemic. Is that it has severely impacted our ability. To raise awareness and educate our businesses about the polystyrene ban. That was passed some time ago now, as, you know, Madam chair, you sponsored. 1, extension of this ordinance back in May of 20. Unfortunately, even with the passage of time, the administration with zero waste has not had the ability, frankly, to make enough businesses aware of this ordinance and raise enough awareness of its provisions. We're here this evening requesting an additional extension of the effective date of this ordinance into 2022. I will say, I think we're all hopefully in agreement on this point, that it does appear that 22 will be a much better year than 20 and certainly the first part of 21 have been as far as our ability to interact with businesses and raise awareness. And the hope is also that because of the financial strain that many of these businesses have been under, that imposing this new requirement on them at this point in time just simply didn't make sense for them or for the community. So I ask for the committee's favorable actions,
