▶ 45:36 Jeff McNaught: seeing no objection public comment is now closed we know that we have some folks from City Hall here tonight mayor Broder and some others so at this time I'll move by unanimous consent to suspend the rules if there is no objection seeing no objection the rules are now suspended and our first order of business tonight is order 2022-26 acceptance and by the way I may have jumped the gun a little bit on our speakers here we're all forgetting about including me forgetting about the Melrose public gardens grant order so that is also on the agenda tonight order 2022-26 acceptance of FY 22 Massachusetts urban agricultural grant in the amount of nine thousand three hundred and thirty nine dollars for replacement of 23 gardening beds at the Melrose community gardens mr. clerk I don't know if we do we have someone here

▶ 47:00 Speaker 9: miss bell can you hear me yes i can all right hey guys all right so you guys know the background um we have a community garden at the um franklin greenleaf place it was started in 2016 with a 50 50 grant 50 from rotary and 50 from the city and we initially put in 23 garden beds a couple years later in 2019 20 we got the mass urban agricultural grant um for roughly six thousand dollars to add an additional 13 beds which we did and completed them um this year the grant came out again and we thought it was a great opportunity um to go back to the original beds which now are five to six years old five years old um and they're starting the wood's starting to kind of fall apart and thought it would be a great opportunity to get the money it's a no match grant so the city doesn't have to match the money we just we put in for it and and we're gonna replace the original 23 beds with more sustainable wood and material so that hopefully we'll get another 15 years out of them, hopefully. So that's the grant that's before you tonight. As I said, there's no money being asked for out of the city. It's all through the state and it will be handled through the park office and the working group of the Melrose Community Garden.
