Um, following our committee meeting last week, I had emailed Director Masa, um, Mr. Talarico, Director of Inspectional Services, um, and, uh, Ms. Phillips, our City Solicitor, to ask them questions that, um, I wanted answers to that evening. Um, and, uh, partially just to also further explain that typically, um, you know, getting, first of all, getting materials within 24 hours prior to a meeting is something that is not, um, following our Rules of Order, which is why I didn't feel comfortable voting on it at that time without having the ability to re- review it in full. Um, and now we have that final clean copy that was uploaded when the agenda was posted so that we're able to review that, um, and, um, I confirmed that the additional sections and, that were added and were all correct throughout with those, those edits made, which is important to me. Um, and that while the ZBA did not have an opportunity to weigh in, uh, Mr. Talarico did, and I, which I do think is important. I think that as we are, there are ordinances that do impact different legislative, uh, different bodies within the city, it's important to make sure that it all makes sense. And while, yes, this, um, ordinance has been going on for a long time, it has not been going a long time in this body. And I, you know, I don't think that most of the 11 of us here were during that time, so I do appreciate when there's thoughtful discussion and conversation about, um, how, you know, when we're deliberating about an ordinance that's gonna be our laws of the city. Um, and I do appreciate the process that the School Committee's gonna go through. You know, for tonight, the city, as we're, uh, people have been watching can see that we are, you know, moving the bottom line and, um, making sure that the funds that, um, were promised are going to the right spots. That's what we're doing here too. And then your particular process will begin to kind of go through that. And, um, I really wanna just say I value your expertise in going through that process, um, as leaders of the school community, people who are understanding that firsthand and, you know, relying on your expertise and that with the School Committee to kind of go through that process. So, um, I just wanted to appreciate that and, and, and, uh, you know, talk about that too. And then, also besides the 8.6 million or closer to 8.7 million, um, you know, you can also see the city employee benefits, um, includes the schools, that's one- another 1.5 million. So there's a portion of that that's also, you know, going to support, um, employee benefits. So it is really, I think, this chart that was, um, done by the mayor's office really kinda highlights exactly what's going to each category, um, in a way that, you know, our standard kind of accounting, way of accounting things might not be that clear to the general public. So I just, I wanna kind of point that out, 'cause that's something new that we've done, um, that the mayor's office has done this year. Um, and then just to, on the, the, you know, in the 3.8, that current fiscal year contractual obligations, um, that is due to the negotiated teacher contracts.
